I need a zip line up.. We can’t put a fence in. I need one asap.
Thanks everyone.
If I were you, I would just go to the petstore and buy a zip line. It would be easier and save time (since you said you needed it asap). I wouldn’t know where to start or what to use to make a zip line, but if you do, more power to you!

I am renting car to driving in my vacation. I want to know how is the driving condition from San Jose to Osa Peninsula. What is best way to transport to Drake?
There are two ways to get to Osa Peninsula, Drakes Bay from San Jose, one is to take the beach route from San Isidro (south of San Jose) where you go through Dominical Beach, and the other is to take the inland route where both ways intersect at Palmar Norte. It is about 205 plus miles from San Jose, depending on final destination or around 10 plus hours.
Driving conditions are good, but expect delays from traffic, road conditions, weather and pit stops. In some cases it may take you 2 days. To sorta view a video of the landscape, go to youtube
Whichever way you go (beach or inland) it is a great trip. The landscape is some of the most scenic in the world.
View from Villa Caletas Hotel in Costa Rica Need great sightseeing suggestions in Costa Rica…?
My boyfriend and I are going in late August to Costa Rica to celebrate his 40th birthday and we are looking for personal experiences from everyone to aid in what we hike or drive to see. We are staying the first 4 days in the Arenal Mamoa Resort Hotel and the last 3 days in Fortuna at the Hotel Villa Caletas. We are looking for places to visit and hike to around these areas (waterfalls, suggestions for volcano activity viewing, etc.) Also does anyone have a suggestion on where to rent a 4X4, I have found no real good reviews anywhere.
Thanks!
Thrifty rent a car is the best deal, try on the internet, don’t called them in Costa Rica because if you do the reservation with them on the phone is double. If you do it, on the internet they honor the rate with no problem.
If you have a visa, called them and ask if they cover (insurance) a rental car in Costa Rica, so you can save tons of money in stupid fees for insurance from Thrifty.
We go to Costa Rica, every year, we rent a Terios is a 4×4 compact (good in gasoline), and we love it!. We had try several companies and so far, this one have worked perfect for us.
Costa Rica offers fantastic and romantic options for honeymooners.
No matter if you want to stay at one hotel or make a circuit around the country to see some of the active volcanoes, rainforest, watefalls, etc – you will surely enjoy it.
I recommend you contact a local tour operator that will help you with ideas, there is so much to do and some things to consider (transportation you prefer, transfer times from one attraction to the other, hotel prices and categories, etc.).
Also some hotels offer special honeymoon packages that include romantic dinner (on the beach for example), fruits and wine in the rooms, spa treatments for two, and much more, so the agency will give you the best choices and also very good prices.
Costa Rica Tambor What do I wear in Puntarenas, Costa Rica?
In 3 weeks I will be vacationing in Puntarenas, CR. I will be staying at the Barcelo Tambor. I have no idea what the weather is like there now and I have to pack soon. I don’t want to be too flashy but I still want to be cute. I plan to go to a few clubs, hang out near the beach, and go on a canopy tour.
What type of clothes will I need to bring?
Please help!
Sorry to disagree with one of the previous answers. The rainiest month historically in Costa Rica is September, followed by October. I went to Barcelo Tambor at the end of October last year for my honeymoon.
The weather was fantastic. We had one downpour which lasted all night, but it was sunny the next morning. If the rainy season pattern is still holding when you come, you can expect warm and sunny mornings and cloudy and rainy afternoons with cool evenings, but nothing really cold. 60 to 70 degrees at night, 75 to 85 degrees during the day. My wife and I loved the beach and the swimming pools. The food was great, the staff courteous and well trained. It was a wonderful experience. I don’t know what kind of clothes you like to wear. We spent all of our time in bathing suits, t-shirts and shorts. There aren’t really formal clubs where you will need to be decked out. Regular summer wear will do. If you go on a canopy tour, bring some sturdy hiking boots.
Don’t forget your Off! You will definitely have to deal with “skeeters” in Barcelo Tambor, especially since it’s the rainy season. Some good sunblock or tanning lotion is also essential. You might also need a sweater for an unseasonably chilly night.
Other than that, bring your party attitude and have a great time. If you want any further information about Costa Rica, try the TicosLand.com website.

costa rica part 2 Visiting Barbados in late Feb-where to stay for best access to variety of activities/beaches?
Hi! I’m a late 30-something female who’s traveling alone (recently spent 2 weeks in Costa Rica/Bocas del Toro); itching for next adventure. Thinking Barbados due to variety of activity (sometimes I like to do nothing – sit in a hamock on a beach with a book) or hike, or swim, or explore. Looks like Barbados offers it all. Trying to figure out what part of the island to stay on to have serenity, but also be able to walk to ‘town’. Open to recommnedaitons of places to stay, too!
Appreciate your help/advice/experience.
S.
If you want a hotel that you can walk to town then try The Savannah Hotel:
Although you can walk to the main town from this hotel it is still ALOT walk. I am not sure of any hotel that is in walking distance to own that isnt a lot of walk.
If you want you can catch a bus to town from this hotel and it is only BDS$1.50 and it would only take like 5 minutes or less. This hotel is not all inclusive, if you want an all inclusive hotel let us know.

Our plan was originally to fly into Juan Santamaria internation airport, and stay somewhere near Alejuala (the city). Then, we’d go to Arena for a few days and then head to Manuel Antonio for the rest of the 10-day trip. But now, I’ve read some travel write that Manuel Antonio/Quepos are “overrated” and that, for example, Cahuita is a much better park for wildlife. Also, that Manuel Antonio is overcrowded on weekends, etc.
We will be there around March 20th, will that be true?
Other people are recommending flying to Liberia and going to Playa Conchal/ Playa Flamingo a short drive away. Great, but there seem to be no rainforest expeditions nearby, no zipline tours, no rafting, and Arenas is more difficult to get to…
Maybe there’s an uncrowded beach near Manuel Antonio, where we could drive to Manuel Antonio when needed? We would PREFER to be near some kind of small town or village, but it’s not necessary.
Suggestions for where best to go? Thank you!
dmit424@yahoo.com
We just were in CR and I can tell you that from Liberia it is approx. a 6 hour drive to the Manuel Antonio area. I personally did not care so much for the Guanacaste area.
We stayed in the Arenal area (La Fortuna) at the Kioro Hotel by the volcano and it was amazing!!!!! From the we went to the Papagayo area (near Liberia approx) and it was so la la….
And then we drove to Quepos / Manuel Area (Hotel Parador) and it FANTASTIC. So much wildlife. It was amazing.
It was not crowded by all means….there are so many beaches in the park that are empty.
I think you won’t find it too crowded at all, but this area is so worth going too.
We loved it!!!!
